California:

To complete the requirements for your bilingual authorization, you will need to take just one Spanish proficiency test.

This is the CSET Spanish Subtest III (test code 147). 

This test is offered once to twice a month at various Pearson testing centers. We recommend you schedule the test after completing some coursework if you have any concerns about your Spanish profiency – we have found that the coursework helps participants gain confidence in their academic Spanish and sets them up for success on the CSET.

The table below shows availability of the CSET Spanish III at different locations through July 2024. More test dates will be released at a later time. Most appointments are for 5:30 pm, and appointments are offered once or twice a month depending on location.

Texas:

In Texas, you will need to take two tests to complete your bilingual authorization: The Bilingual Target Language Proficiency Test (BTLPT) Spanish (190) and the Bilingual Education Supplemental (164)
